Hello! Two important topics:

1) FRAGRANCES

2) FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES

Also, I’m attaching a revised seating chart for tonight.

----------------------------

1) As a reminder to veterans of our choir, and to make new singers aware,
there are some members who have health issues that are exacerbated by
fragrances in the air. Those who have asthma, chemical allergies, or who
are subject to headaches or migraines are particularly sensitive to
synthetic fragrances. One member specifically has an invisible disability
brought on by multiple chemical fragrances in the air. If you could please
cooperate by lessening the amount of fragrances in our choir environment,
that would be critical to this member's health.

We are asking you to WASH OFF ANY BODY SPRAYS, PERFUMES, COLOGNES OR
SCENTED LOTIONS before coming to choir activities. If you have relatives or
friends visiting our choir rehearsals or performances, please ask them to
do the same.

Of course, personal cleanliness and the use of deodorants are welcome;
fragranced personal care items are what we are asking you to refrain from
using. AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE WE URGE YOU TO SWITCH TO FRAGRANCE FREE OR
UNSCENTED HAIR CARE, PERSONAL CARE AND LAUNDRY PRODUCTS. Please note that
organic is not the same as fragrance free. An optional beneficial measure
would be to wear clean clothing, that has been washed free of scents, air
fresheners or smoke.

We realize this is inconvenient, but these are serious allergies and
sensitivities that are critical to the health of our members.

Thank you very much for your understanding.

--------------------------------------------------------

2)This fall we are seeing the return of several fun fundraising
opportunities for our choir, including a fan- favorite!! Choir members
can participate in helping to run concessions at NC State football
games and have the opportunity to volunteer at the NC State Fair
Turkey Shoot (yes, it's back!). Please see below for details on each.

----------------------------

a) The Cary Jaycees run a concession stand at the NCSU home games, and they
have invited the Concert Singers to help run the stand. Each volunteer
earns a donation for CSC of $100 plus tips. A few singers have tried out
the experience, and together they added $400 to the CSC budget! Feedback
from these singers is that the stand is ideally situated and attracts a lot
of passing foot traffic. It is a very busy place before the game, during
half time and then it trails off but they are sure to have some snacks
available for sale as fans are leaving after the game. The training is
simple, and the Cary Jaycees are available and willing to help and answer
any questions. One CSC member summed up her experience as "The time passes
very quickly, and the Jaycees could not be a nicer group to work with. It
is an experience that took me out of my routine and gave me something to
talk about. It is a lot of fun!"

If you're interested in joining other singers at some of these events,
check out the link provided below!

*Arrival Time *Please arrive a couple hours before kickoff (the exact time
is communicated before each home game) and plan for traffic! This allows us
to inventory, prep and go over some basics before we have to open.

*Parking:*
There is free parking for volunteers behind the James B Hunt Horse Complex
off of Youth Center Rd. Just tell the attendant you're working the
concession stand A and they should let you in. There is a shuttle that runs
from the parking lot to the stadium but it does not run after the game.
Please plan ahead for traffic and the 15 minute walk from the parking lot.
There is an attached map with a star for the parking entrance.

*Entering the stadium and finding our stand:*
You will need to enter the stadium through Gate #1 next to the Concessions
Office on the west side. If you're looking at Gates 2-4 and the Vaughn
Towers, it is to your left behind the little parking area.

You must check in at the concessions office when you arrive before going to
our stand.

We are concession stand A. When you come through Gate 1, it is the first
stand to your right. It is right across from gates 2-4. If you get lost or
have issues getting into the stadium, you can call Greg Stabler at
843-817-8559

*Dress Code*:
White, red or black shirt – no team logos other than NC State University.
Khaki/blank pants or shorts preferred, jeans are ok (no rips or tears and
the length of all shorts must be to the tips of your fingers).
You may not wear-cut off pants, sweat pants, sleeveless blouses or shirts,
and camouflage shirts or pants while working.
Closed toed shoes that cover the entire foot.

*Food and Drink:*
Food/drink is not provided but you can purchase food if you would like.

b) Additionally, the Turkey Shoot has returned to the NC State Fair this
year!

Welcome to the Raleigh Jaycees Turkey Shoot! Thanks for signing up to
support the longest running game at the North Carolina State Fair, which
raises funds to allow the Jaycees to provide service to humanity - the best
work of life! We're excited to be back at the State Fair for the first time
since 2019 and can't wait for you to be a part!

Many choir members have participated in years past, and it's always a
blast! Meet fellow singers and enjoy the fair before or after your shift if
you'd like, as the Jaycees provide one ticket to Fair entry per shift. When
signing up, please note that you're with the Concert Singers of Cary so
that we can receive the fundraising value of your hard work!
