Hello everyone!! I hope you are enjoying a splendid summer!



It’s been awhile, just wanted to touch base. There is a LOT in this email,
please read to the (non-bitter) end!



Our FIRST REHEARSAL is still Monday, September 9, 2019, 7:30pm!



The second of the annual Cary arts festivals approacheth, Lazy Daze, we
need volunteers as usual to be at our table! Aug 24-25. Please do consider
helping out, we have TWO days to cover - you can sign up for a slot here!

Please help us promote our fall auditions (Aug 19, 26, Sep 3)!! Word of

Fellow Singers,

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the executive
team for the upcoming season:

Megan Brachtl, President
Ann Bingham, Vice President
Debi DeAnn, Treasurer
Rock Angier, Secretary

Megan and Ann (not a CSC singer) are new to the board this year, while Debi
and Rock will be continuing the outstanding work they’ve been doing in
their respective roles. The ideas, energy and leadership that Megan and
your elected board have already shown leave me with no doubt that we are
all in good hands!

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and our organization over the
past several years. One final ask before I ride off into the sunset is that
you be involved—volunteer, join a committee, or just help out when you can.
As great as our new board is, they can’t do it alone. So please, please
help support and elevate CSC by giving your time and effort.

CARNEGIE HALL UPDATE: The response to the survey has been very positive. If
you have not yet completed the survey, you still can do it:

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: We are in need of a CARNEGIE CZAR: a volunteer to
help with organizational aspects of the trip. In particular, someone with
experience or comfort in researching and organizing group travel plans.
Most of the details are already handled by Mid America, but a few remain
for us to do, including checking in to group travel rates for travel to and
from NYC, collecting payments, and keeping track of who's going, etc.

We have two other VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES. These are ongoing positions. We
are looking for a CONCERT LOGISTICS COORDINATOR and a PROGRAM INSERT
COORDINATOR. The descriptions for each can be found in the attached
files.  Each
of these positions involve duties that are not complicated but are very
important. Both involve brains, one also involves a bit of brawn! As the
titles indicate, the work for each is concentrated around performance
times. The volunteers could be but do not need to be members of the choir.
In fact, having a non-singing logistics person would provide certain
benefits. Please contact Nathan if you are interested or if you know

The Ad Sales Committee is working on selling ads for the 2019 - 20 Concert
Singers Program but we need help from all the singers.  An ad in our
program is extremely reasonable: $150 for a half page and $300 for a full
page! Businesses are more responsive to requests from people they know but
especially people who use their services.  Attached is the CSC Ad Order
form.  We are asking everyone to contact a company (or a friend or neighbor
who has a business) and ask if they would place an ad in the CSC program.
If you have any questions, please contact Sue Chaploney at
schaploney at gmail.com.  The programs will go into print the end of August so
please make a contact today!  Thank you all so much for your assistance.
