*Choral Notes for the week of 10/21/13*

**
*Message from Larry:*
**
*Dear Chorus!*
**
*I am very excited to tell you about two upcoming concerts by the men's
ensemble Riverdeep. Riverdeep is another one of the organizations with whom
CSC has a collaborative arrangement. Led by Dr. William Adams, Riverdeep, *
http://www.riverdeepchorus.com/_/Roster.html, * consists of a dozen men,
including our own Peter Lebeau and myself.*
*The eclectic program we will be singing ranges from Part to Poulenc, from
Britten to Barbershop. You will travel to India with "Ramkali" and to
Russia with "Milost Mira". You will visit Brazil with the traditional folk
song "Siriri", and sit on a train to Berlin contemplating "Things I Didn't
Know I Loved."*
*In addition, we will tell you "Five Ways to Kill a Man" (Bob Chilcott),
sing of love lost, "Tarantella" (Randall Thompson), and of lovers lost, "
The Ballad of Little Musgrave and Lady Barnard" ( Benjamin Britten.) If
you are looking for a major lift, we are raising our "Hallelujah", spending
a bit of time with Duke Ellington's "Sophisticated Lady", and saying "good
night" with Billy Joel's "Lullabye." *
*Soprano Patty Philipps (who has sung with The CSC) will be joining us in
the world premier of William Adams' "Tread Softly", which he composed in
honor of Jeff Clark.*
**
*Concert tickets ($20) can be purchased through *http://www.riverdeepchorus
.com/_/Concert.html* or at the door.*
**
* I would love to have you come with your family and friends!*
**
*Thank you!*

*Larry*

The two concerts are:

   - Saturday, October 19th at 7:30pm - Edenton St. United Methodist
   Church, Raleigh
   - Sunday, October 20th at 4:00pm - Eno River Unitarian
UniversalistFellowship, Durham

*CONGRATULATIONS!*

Congratulations to Greg Tarsa who was the lucky Bass winner of two NC
Symphony tickets on Monday night. We'll draw from the winning section
again the next two rehearsals so 2 more people will be lucky winners of two
symphony tickets. Will it be another Bass or is another section pulling
out ahead of them??? About 35% of our members have pledged or donated so
far - this is your chance to pull your section ahead!. Any amount helps!
You can do so by bringing in a check next rehearsal along with the
attached pledge form or clicking the Donate section of our website.http://
concertsingers.org/donations. Or if you just want to pledge now and pay
later, you can do that too. Below are the donor levels for your information.
