Dear Choir,

 

Excellent rehearsal last night! Just three notes.

 

1.       Words that begin with Z (i.e. Zauber) are still sound like Z
instead of the TS sound like Tsau-Buh. Think of how you pronounce pizza and
write reminders in your score.

2.       The whole note in measure 638 is the only place where I heard an
American L. It is the longest note that we sing on that word so it's obvious
if it is not correct. Keep the L out of the throat or drop it altogether and
sing VET.

3.       Measure 810 (Menschen Werden) is becoming to choppy. This is due to
the fact that Bill is emphasizing those beats in the new tempo for the
orchestra and we are reading it as accented short notes. Override that and
sing them as we rehearsed them.

 

Ticket sales are booming! I suggest that you buy them online if you want to

I just received this note from Amanda Law.

 

"I just called to order my tickets for tonight and they only have 45 left!
The woman I spoke to said she expects a sell out, so would you mind sending
out a quick note to the group so no one is disappointed at the door? "

 

I have also received feedback from singers that the large black folders are
making harder to sing in close quarters. I suggest that we not use folders
tonight. We will rehearse getting on and off the risers when we meet. We
have from 6:00-6:30 to warm up and tend to logistics.

 

Let's enjoy what is turning out to be a wonderful high energy night of
music! I will see you dressed and ready on the risers at 6:00!
