Greetings one and all…

Our rehearsal location this Monday Sept 25 is back in our regular
location: Greenwood Forest Baptist Church (110 SE Maynard Rd, Cary) at
7:30pm! Please check the seating chart after you enter the sanctuary,
there will be some minor changes.

I've added practice file links! Please listen to them, they will
really help you learn the music:

Please help us promote the November concert! You can invite your
Facebook friends from the event:

You can also email the web page out (thanks to Ellen Schloemer for
adding individual web pages for all our concerts for this
year!):https://concertsingers.org/our-season/our-star-will-not-wane/

Most importantly, Ashley Holt and the rest of the board have created a
great "CSC Sponsorship Proposal Packet", it is attached (PDF). Please
look it over, and think about businesses you frequent or have personal
relationships with that you can approach with this packet. "We are
excited to announce that we will be selling ads and sponsorships for
our concerts this season. If you or someone you know is interested,
please have them reach out to Laura Moore at
executivedir at concertsingers.org. We appreciate your help in spreading
the word about this program."

Attached is a PDF with results of our recent CSC singers survey, as
provided by Stacy Hanna (board president). Thanks to you all for
participating!

(especially board members) who helped organize our fun and festive
potluck picnic!

----------------------------------------OLD (BUT STILL PERTINENT) NEWS
FROM THE PREVIOUS 'CHORAL NOTES' FOLLOWS

----------------------------------------
We are looking for members who might want to represent CSC at the
‘Heart of Cary’ morning meetings:- October 5th, 7:30-9am - topic:
Honoring Cary First Responders- November 2nd, 7:30-9am - topic TBD
Thom has attended a few in the past, they are fun, sort of ‘chamber of
commerce’y. Let Laura know at executivedir at concertsingers.org if you
can attend one and represent CSC; she will arrange to get you some
materials to help promote and publicize our organization!
----------------------------------------
CSC has partnered with two local organizations to provide
opportunities for our singers to volunteer and earn money for our
choir. Your efforts will be considered as a gift-in-kind for purposes
of annual contributions to our fundraising efforts.
(1) Carter-Finley NC State football games with Cary Jaycees (thru Nov 25)
The Cary Jaycees operate a concession stand at NC State home games.
They partner with other non-profits like CSC to help them support
their missions. We earn a base of $100 per volunteer along with a
percentage of the tips (ranges from $50-150 per person per game).
Please note that you will be on your feet for 6 hours on concrete
including walking from your car and showing up early.
Please look at your schedules and hopefully fit in a game or two. You
can list Concert Singers of Cary when you sign up or at your shift.
The Jaycees will email you details the week of your shift.

(2) SAVE THE DATE: Raleigh Jaycees Turkey Shoot
CSC has also been invited to again work the Turkey Shoot October
12-22nd at the State Fair.
NO turkeys will be shot! Instead, players buy a paper target for an
opportunity to shoot a bullseye, and one person in each round wins a
prize.
There are jobs for people of all abilities, and training is included.
Plus, you get a free ticket to the fair and unlimited snacks during
your shift.
CSC earns a share of the booth proceeds, so you will be supporting us
while having a good time. Win-win, don't you think?
You can sign up here:

https://signup.com/mobileweb/2.0/vspot.html?activitykey=25301360402
Please let Stacy Hanna know if you have any questions about either
opportunity (shannacu at gmail.com).
