Hi everyone! First – please note that our rehearsal location this Monday
Sept 18 will be the sanctuary (picture attached) at the Kirk of Kildaire
Presbyterian Church, 200 High Meadow Drive, Cary—just half a mile from
GFBC, across from the McDonald’s on Kildaire Farm Road. After this
rehearsal we’ll resume meeting at GFBC.
If you missed the first rehearsal, please come to the next rehearsal by
7:10pm to get your music. Everyone - get to this new location early please.

We haven’t much time to finalize our fall group Formal Fashions concert
attire order, to receive the goods in time for the Nov 7 concert! You can
familiarize yourself with our standard wardrobe here:
https://concertsingers.org/members/other-guidelines
Here is the Formal Fashions website:
https://formalfashionsinc.com/
You are welcome to order on your own, but if you want to save money on
shipping/handling, we put together a group order twice yearly. Plus,
the sizing on women’s clothing is a bit tricky. Terri Ring (our Alto
section leader) has helped fellow singers with this for years, she
says “tops (now $35) run small & skirts ($29) run large”. Cost for
both together is about $64 plus tax/S&H/extra charge for large items.
Here is a form you can fill out to join the group order and get help
from Terri, if needed. You can also email her directly for advice:

The HARD deadline to fill out the form: TUESDAY SEPT 19! That is in
less than a week! Let Thom know if you are having trouble filling out
this form.
Men, if you need any tuxedo separates or accessories, you might find
what you need as well at Formal Fashions, and are welcome to order
from there too, just fill out the form.

We are looking for members who might want to represent CSC at the
‘Heart of Cary’ morning meetings:
- October 5th, 7:30-9am - topic: Honoring Cary First Responders.
- November 2nd, 7:30-9am - topic TBD
Thom has attended a few in the past, they are fun, sort of ‘chamber of
commerce’y. Let Laura know at executivedir at concertsingers.org if you
can attend one and represent CSC; she will arrange to get you some
materials to help promote and publicize our organization!
----------------------------------------
CSC has partnered with two local organizations to provide
opportunities for our singers to volunteer and earn money for our
choir. Your efforts will be considered as a gift-in-kind for purposes
of annual contributions to our fundraising efforts.
(1) Carter-Finley NC State football games with Cary Jaycees (thru Nov 25)
The Cary Jaycees operate a concession stand at NC State home games.
They partner with other non-profits like CSC to help them support
their missions. We earn a base of $100 per volunteer along with a
percentage of the tips (ranges from $50-150 per person per game).
Please note that you will be on your feet for 6 hours on concrete
including walking from your car and showing up early.
Please look at your schedules and hopefully fit in a game or two. You
can list Concert Singers of Cary when you sign up or at your shift.
The Jaycees will email you details the week of your shift.

(2) SAVE THE DATE: Raleigh Jaycees Turkey Shoot
CSC has also been invited to again work the Turkey Shoot October
12-22nd at the State Fair.
NO turkeys will be shot! Instead, players buy a paper target for an
opportunity to shoot a bullseye, and one person in each round wins a
prize.
There are jobs for people of all abilities, and training is included.
Plus, you get a free ticket to the fair and unlimited snacks during
your shift.
CSC earns a share of the booth proceeds, so you will be supporting us
while having a good time. Win-win, don't you think?
Sign-up information coming soon!
Please let Stacy Hanna know if you have any questions about either
opportunity (shannacu at gmail.com).

If the dog ate your CSC badge, let Thom know and he’ll make you a new one!
