Hello all, I hope you are enjoying a splendid summer!

Cary’s “Lazy Daze” festival will be here before you know it – Aug
26-27 (9-5pm each day). CSC will share a table this time, with (get
this) the Irish bagpipers of the "An Gorta Mor Memorial Pipe and
Drums" group! They will be strolling thru the fest occasionally
playing…

By doing this, each group only needs to fill half the table-sitting
spots! I need six of you to please sign up for a 2-hour slot. Go here
to see all the details and add your name! Volunteers are oh so
appreciated…

Concert Singers of Cary Board of Directors

The following was sent in the previous Choral Notes

----------------------------------------

1. We have an exciting season in store for 23-24. Here are the important
dates:

August 21 and 28 – CSC fall auditions

Monday, Sept. 11 - first rehearsal (Greenwood Forest Baptist Church)

Saturday, Sept. 16 - choir potluck at Bond Park, 4 pm

Tuesday, Nov. 7 – CSC Fall Concert (CAC Theatre); Lindsey Bruner Woodcock,
guest conductor

Saturday, Dec. 9 – CSC Holiday Pops (CAC Theatre); Bill Adams, guest
conductor

Tuesday, Jan 9 – CSC winter auditions

January 27 – CSC Chamber Choir Concert (GFBC)

April 8 – CSC Big Sing (GFBC)

April 27 – Mozart Requiem (Westwood Baptist) (orchestra rehearsals on April
25, 7 pm, and April 27, 10:30 am.)

2. The board has completed its annual election of officers. Our officers
now are:

President: Stacy Hanna (previously VP)

Vice President: Ashley Holt (new officer; yup, soprano!)

Treasurer: Rachael Lubbers (returning)

Secretary: Debbie Carroll (returning)

3. This fall, Nathan will be heavily involved in starting a three-year
special project in choral music at NC State. Due to the significant time
requirements that will be needed in the formative stages, he requested and
the board approved a sabbatical from Concert Singers performances from
September to December. Nathan remains the Artistic Director, and will
continue to handle artistic planning, auditions, and other similar matters.
This gives CSC an opportunity to have two excellent guest conductors for
our concerts this fall.

Lindsey Bruner Woodcock is in her second year as the Director of
Choral Activities
at Meredith College, and will conduct the fall concert. She performed with
the Chamber Choir last January.

Bill Adams is a singer, teacher, multi-instrumentalist, and director of
Heart of Carolina A Cappella. He was our featured soloist and Master of
Ceremonies for our Holiday Pops in 2018, and will join us again to direct
the concert in 2023. He also has taken over operation of the essential
TriangleSings website!

Josh Johnstone will continue in his role as Assistant Conductor. We can all
look forward to fresh and exciting concerts this fall.
