E te fai mai pateta…
Our third reh of the spring is Monday Feb 21, from 7:30-9:30pm at the
Cary Arts Center theatre.
To help Nathan with the seating chart, we need a very good idea who is
planning to participate with us this spring. If you haven’t yet, can
you please go here, and look for your name. If you find it, and are
NOT going to join us this term, please let me (Thom) know –
thomhaynes1 at gmail.com If you do NOT find it and are singing with us
this spring, please let me know.

If you are planning to participate this spring, please follow the
instructions found in the board letter email sent Jan 16, if you
haven’t already:

Mar 1 is the deadline to fill out the Booster vax form, and Mar 7 the
last day to show us your card (if you don’t upload a pic of it). If
you showed us your card at reh, great, but we also still need you to
please fill out the form:

The Practice Files page now has links to examples of the FOUR pieces
that comprise the spring concert, I’ll add better links if I find them
(please suggest one if you come across one you like!).

The fundraising committee has asked me to ask YOU "What is your
favorite thing about singing with the Concert Singers?". Please reply
and let me know!
Please remember that you can always check past Choral Notes at this link:

An interesting question about the Shearing piece: is it true the first
section likely wasn't written by the Bard (S’speare), but rather
Christopher Marlowe (pt 1) and our own Sir Walter Raleigh (pt 2)?

Sue Chaploney, of the CSC board fundraising committee, has an upcoming
request of you:
“Hello Fellow Singers, I hope everyone is doing well. Last Valentine's Day
we had a very successful Food Drive for Dorcas Ministries Food Pantry.
Valentine's Day is coming and it is a perfect time to give back to our
community and help those in need.
Please join the Concert Singers Board of Directors and contribute
non-perishable food and personal care items for the Dorcas Ministries Food
Pantry located in Cary. The attached flyer has a list of the most needed
items.
There are a few ways to give:
1) We will collect grocery items, checks made payable to Dorcas Food Pantry
and grocery store gift cards ($5, $10 or $20 denominations preferred) at
the Cary Arts Center parking lot (accessible from Faculty Avenue on the
right side of building) during the following days and times:
Saturday, February 19, from 10 am to 12 pm
Sunday, February 20, from 12 pm to 2 pm
You won't even need to get out of your car. Just open your trunk and we
will collect what you bring. (Please note that all volunteers will be
wearing masks and practicing social distancing throughout the event. Please
be prepared with your mask, too!)
2) Alternatively, a really easy and safe way to donate is on Amazon at this
Dorcas link:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/12IW10VX71JRT/ref=bnav_topnav_lists_3
?
3) You can also bring your donation to a rehearsal and I will collect it
then.
Members of the Board will present the donations to Dorcas on Monday,
February 21, at 10 am. Thank you in advance for all your help! If you have
any questions, please call or text Sue Chaploney at 919-946-1180.”
In addition to the public CSC group, we have a private group for
