Dear Concert Singers - I hope you are all well and healthy.

As we progress through this week, the second full week of May, we are
reminded that it has been almost two months since we last met, and this
would have been the week of our much anticipated performance of Mozart's
Vespers. While that concert is not going to occur, we would like to have
rehearsal anyway - online! So this Monday, May 18, at our normal time of
7:30 pm, we will meet virtually, for rehearsal for anyone that would like
to attend. If you would like to prepare anything in advance, you can look
through the first movement of Mozart's Vespers. Practice tracks and music
are up on the CSC website. More instructions will follow later this week on
how this will work. It will be an opportunity to dust off the pipes, sing a
bit, see the faces of each other. We'll also have announcements from our
officers and board.

I also want to take a moment to note that we very likely have CSC members
directly affected in their health or finances right now, and that our
thoughts are with you.

The board and staff have been busy during the last several weeks, making
revised plans for next season. We will sing, in some form, next season.
Yet, the safety of everyone must take priority. I'm sure many of you have
heard the various reports about choirs and choir singing amidst the
pandemic. We have as well, and are formulating a path forward for the fall
based on guidance from many sources, including our professional singing
organizations and the Town of Cary. We will be doing some things a bit
differently next season. It will be a challenge and also an opportunity,
and I think we will find ways to have some fun.

Along these lines, the board has determined that CSC will not participate
in person with the rescheduled Basant Bahar performance with Hum Sub in
August (if it happens). I will reach out to Hum Sub - it is possible we may
be able to participate in a virtual format, we will see.

In addition to our practice on Monday at 7:30, I also want to let you know
that Eric Whitacre's Virtual Choir 6 is taking submissions through May 22.
