Concert Singers - Excellent rehearsal today. Thank you for your work and
your musicality.

Your call tomorrow is 2:00, on the stage. We will have use of the dressing
rooms during the concert. Here are a few music notes.

DEBUSSY CHOIR:

Very good singing – you are doing well, and very musical.

REH 4: Good job on these. Be sure to be with him in terms of tempo. In the
crescendo/decrescendos, let the decrescendo happen evenly, don’t
decrescendo instantly.

Entrance after REH 7: This needs to be much louder. Sing this full forte.
After REH 7, there are 10 beats and then you are in.

After REH 10, your entrance is marked pianissimo. Sing it a little louder,
piano.

After REH 11, sing 10% louder and be ready to go with his tempo.

After REH 28, sing 5% louder.

MENDELSSOHN CHOIR

You are singing very well, but the balance is tricky. The musical shaping
is very nice…keep it up.

MVT 1:

-Keep the same musical line, but everyone except sopranos sing 10%
louder/mezzo piano in your first entrances. Basses, when you come in in
measure 15, sing mezzo forte as the orchestra is quite full here.

-In the sf measures 52-53/56-57, do the accent but maintain the volume. We
are getting too soft after the sf.

MVT 3:

-measure 39, enter a little louder, mezzo piano.

-The musical shaping is very nice.

-Measure 43, make the crescendo more and more dramatic.

-Measure 49, beat 3 – louder forte.

-Measure 62, more dramatic crescendo.

MVT 4:

-Nice opening. More “tt” at the end of Gott.

MVT 7:

-More tt at the end of Gott

-Be sure to be on the front edge of tempo. Diction helps with that. Lots of
“Pr” on Pries. The consonants come before the beat, so we get vowel on the
beat.
