Dear Choir,

I’m writing to remind you of my announcement this past
Monday night that we will use this Monday’s rehearsal for the Chamber
Choir from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Symphonic Choir will have the week off.

Since I won’t see some of you until April 12th,
I want to give you a smile to start your weekend…..

You may recall me mentioning about being at an American
Choral Directors Convention in Phila back in February and running into Glenn
Miller, my friend and former classmate from my days at Westminster Choir
College. Glenn has a beautiful solo bass voice that is known for being one of
the lowest pitched voices in the music world today. Professional choirs frequently
contract him to fly in from Michigan, (where he is a church music director and
organist) when they do works such as Mahler’s 2nd Symphony
and Rachmaninoff Vespers that have extraordinarily low bass parts.

The link below was posted on Youtube awhile back when Glenn
was working at a music camp and was asked to sing a spoof song from the 1930’s
A Basso Profundo Am I. The quality of the video is poor as it was
made on a cell phone and there are some shrieks from the kids that cover him occasionally.
But it is well work looking past all of that.

I hope that you enjoy! It already has over 19,000 hits.
