*Choral Notes for the week of 05/13*

*Two Messages from Larry:*
**
*Dear Choir,*
**
*First, I want to extend my sincerest thanks for a job well done at our
concert yesterday. I appreciate the diligence that you showed at the
afternoon rehearsal despite the chaotic atmosphere. The concert was an
artistic success and though our audience was below what we had hoped to
have, it was pretty solid considering the weather issues. I must confess
that while I was optimistic that we would be able to complete the program,
I never once thought we would get there with zero precipitation! *

*I also want to congratulate Jim Waddelow and the Raleigh Symphony for
pulling together a fine performance and to our soloists who did an
outstanding job across the board. We have often collaborated with The
Raleigh Symphony over the years and I have come to appreciate the very fine
work that they do. *

*Second, I would like to encourage all of you who are able to to please
come to our meeting this Tuesday night in Marcus Dry (at the CAC) from 7:30
– 9:00 when our board will present their annual report to the membership.
It takes all of us to make the organization successful. We have had a very
fine year and the support that we have received from our members has made
this possible. This meeting is a great opportunity to find out how the
group functions on the financial level and what the areas are in which we
need your specific skill sets to help us. We hope that you can join us for
this very informative evening! *

*Sincerely,*

*Larry*

*Women's Chorus: A Message from Jenn*

Dear Ladies,

What a pleasure and a thrill! You trusted me to put you on strange and
different voice parts, do goofy stretches, make odd sounds, then put it all
back together again into a cohesive sound. Last night was a wonderful coda
to this women's choir experiment. Thank you for your focus, your energy,
and your voices. Thank you for your emotion during the performance, your
fabulous expression, and your kind words afterwards.

I could not have been happier!

Jenn

*"Strike Up the Band" music*

Please make sure to have erased all your markings before returning your
music Monday evening.

*Sopranos/Altos - concert dress for June 27th and June 28th*

We have still not been told what the attire is to be for the Sci-Fi concert
at Meymandi Hall. Unless we hear otherwise, we are assuming that we will be
wearing our standard black concert dress (mandatory black top; long black
skirt). If you are singing the June 27th and June 28th concert and do NOT
have the standard black top, please send me your measurements so I can
place the order no later than this coming Tuesday (May 14th) I already have
six orders; the more we place the less shipping cost we pay. If you want to
take this opportunity to order the skirt that will become mandatory next
season, please send me your waist and hip measurements.

*Tenors/Basses - two free tuxes available!*

If you do not own a tux and are in the size 44 - long range, we have two
free tuxes available.

See you at rehearsal - regular time 7:30pm - regular place Marcus Dry!
