*Choral Notes for the weeks 12/30/13 AND 1/06/14*
*Music for the upcoming"King David" concert*
An early music pick-up date (for those of you who want to pick your music
up before 1/13/14) for the upcoming "King David" concert will be announced
as soon as the music arrives. We are limited to ordering music 30 days in
advance as we only have a 30 day window in which to return music for a
refund.
*Sopranos and Altos only (OK gentlemen, stop laughing)*
In response to numerous queries, below, please find the description as
written on our website of the top that is worn for our Holiday Pops
Concerts:
"Top: Solid colored dressy fabric (no see-through fabrics – velvet or
sequins are permitted); sleeves of any length; necklines – no cleavage
showing"
It was brought to our (Beverly, Terri, Ingrid) attention, at times very
rudely, that the above was not clear enough. So, (my apologies to those of
you for whom all was clear) my hope is that this will clarify any other
questions for those who did not quite understand what was meant in the
above.
*solid* = uniform in tone (color and fabric) i.e.: opaque, as in, your
undergarment will not show through.
*colored* = not black or white or light beige; the men provide the black
and white in their tuxedos, the festive, colorful contrast is the color the
women provide with their tops.
*dressy* = in this case a "festive Holiday" fabric; ex: satin, silk, shiny
polyester, sequins, or velvet.
*velvet or sequins are permitted* = a solid colored velvet or sequin
festive top is allowed - not a top where sequins are used here and there as
a design or embroidered along the sleeves or collar.
*sleeves of any **length* = cap sleeves, short sleeves, 3/4 length sleeves.
No completely bare arms, spaghetti straps or strapless tops. White arms are
not attractive under stage lights.
*no cleavage showing* = does not matter how much or little you have; this
is not a New Year's Eve party event; it's a family Holiday Pops.
When the women's basketball team is told to show up on game night in
their team basketball uniform, I'll be willing to bet no team member shows
up in a tennis outfit and expects to be allowed to play in the game. [?]
Thank you.
Have a wonderfully relaxing Holiday Season!!
See you at rehearsal on January 13th!
