*Choral Notes for the week of 10/01*
**
**
*Reminders:*
**
1. Rehearsal Monday night is back to full chorus at 7:30 in Marcus Dry
room.
2. If you have not done so, please up-date your profile page on
www.concersingers.org in the members area.
3. Please help in identifying potential advertisers for our program
booklet. The information and forms required may be found at
http://concertsingers.org/donations/business-sponsorship-and-program-advertising
We
are offering full and half page ads in our program which will be in a 6” x
8.5” format. *The deadline to reserve space is October 5th* and the
deadline to submit artwork is October 15th. We are offering half page
ads for $100 and full page ads for $200 that will be run at all five
concerts this season. Our audiences come from all walks of life but our
research indicates that we do especially well attracting upscale customers
between the age of 40 – 60.
*FINAL CALL*
**
- We are adding Light of a Clear Blue Morning, arr. Craig Hella
Johnson, to the November concert and we are adding Christmas Song, arr. by
Audrey Snyder, to the Holiday Pops program in December. As we do not want
to order more copies than needed, if you have not already done so, please
take a 10 second two question survey to let us know how many of you already
have one or both of these copies by clicking
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/6HD3QWF We need to place the
order Tuesday morning.
-
This is the last chance to sign up to order either a CSC T-shirt or CSC
Bag for the Fall. Next orders will be taken after January.
*Black folders and pins*
**
- We will have a limited number of black, music folders (2 sizes) for
sale on Monday - $3 and $5 depending on the size, exact cash amount only.
- If you did not receive a pin for last year's season, they will be
available (free) on the table in front of Marcus Dry.
**
**
*SOPRANOS and ALTOS: concert dress*
**
Over the years, attempts have been made to give the women's section a more
unified appearance. Several years ago we decided to allow more flexibility
in the women's attire while still aiming for a unified appearance. Despite
our best attempts, this has not worked and we have received several
comments about the group's appearance from audience members that were
*not*very complimentary. The Chorus Committee has been researching
various dress
options that are both visually and monetarily appealing. We hope to have an
example of what the new look will be by Oct. 8th. *If* the samples we have
ordered match up to their photos, then we will be planning the following:
- Everyone will be asked to purchase the black top for the November
concert: less than $30 - this top will be worn for the informal black
concerts as well.
- The *same long black skirt* will be worn for *all* concerts as will
dark hose and black, comfortable dress shoes. A black skirt may be
purchased at the same time as the top, or you may wear your own
floor-length solid black skirt if you already own one.
- Solid, dressy fabric (no see-through!), colored *tops* (no cleavage
showing), with sleeves of any length and dressy earrings and necklaces are
the new "Holiday Pops Concert" festive look.
- No necklaces; only stud or small pearl earrings, will be worn for all
the other concerts.
The unified formal look will match up to our unified sound and we'll look
at least as good as the men do in their tuxedos!
See you at rehearsal!
