*A Message from Larry:*

*It was wonderful seeing such a full chorus on Monday! I am really looking
forward to our May concert and I know you will too once the music starts to
settle in. *

*Please make a special effort not to do any talking during rehearsal! The
sound of the airconditioning is making it very difficult for me to speak
above it so everyone can hear and that combined with the large number of
singers in the room makes it even more necessary than usual to save
allconversations and comments for the break.

*Fund Raising - A Message from CSC's Board Chairman*
* *
At the March CSC Board meeting, the board authorized a repeat of recent
years' efforts to raise funds for WCPE so that CSC could continue getting
on-air credit as a supporter.  In each of the 2010 and 2011 drives we
raised over $2000,which entitled us to twice-weekly plugs about the CSC,
its programs, and its objectives.

If you listen to The Classical Station, you have probably heard these
Public Service Announcements (PSAs), particularly in the Sunday AM Great
Sacred Music and Thursday evening Opera House programs.  The thresholds are
$500 gets monthly PSAa, $1000 gets weekly plugs.  It would be nice to match
last year's $2000, but we can surely go for $1000!Recall that the process
is:

1.    Make your check for the amount of the donation to "WCPE Radio"
2.    Put "CSC Project" in the memo line of the check, to ensure proper
credit
3.    Give your check to me, Katy O'Brien, Ingrid Speakman, or any board
member
4.    Feel good all over for helping both great local music institutions!

The PSAs are the "premium" we get for the group donation, so you will not
get your individual coffee mug or tee shirt.
I'll nag and give status updates from time to time as the campaign goes
along.  We want to wrap this up by Mid-April.

If you are not singing in the current CSC project and wish to contribute to
WCPE as part of our effort, you can put the check in the snail mail to:

*We need to know:*

   - Is there anyone who did NOT attend Monday night's first rehearsal who
   is planning on singing the May concert? If there is, who are you and have
   you already pre-paid your music? Please let me know by this Friday,
   3/30, otherwise you will have to buy your music on your own.
   - If you have NOT r.s.v.p.'d yet for the May 20th luncheon: Please let
   me know by this Friday, 3/30.


*Pictures and Name Tags:*
**

   - there will be sign-up sheets on the table at break on Monday, 3/26 for
   you to sign if you either need a name tag (please write your first and last
   name and which voice you sing - SATB) or need/want your photo taken for the
   pictorial directory (all new members need both a name tag and a photo
   taken.)
   - the directory is on the verge of being completed.
   - please note that anyone who has not sung with CSC for the past two
   seasons will have their photo removed from the directory.


*Music still to come:*
**
1. Not everyone has a copy of "Jasmine Flower" in their packet; we have
more on order.
2. The piece "Motherless Child" is also on back order.


*Question regarding the cost of the music as a tax deduction:*
**
"*Membership dues are* tax deductible if you itemize.  Please see Katy
O'Brien if you need a tax receipt.  Music costs are pass-through costs and
are therefore *not* tax deductible."


*A grey cardigan was left behind last Monday; it can be picked up at the
CAC lost and found.*

*Please note*: just because the rehearsal room was stifling hot last
Monday, does not mean it will be the same this coming Monday. Be prepared
for the possibility of experiencing the opposite extreme!
