*Choral Notes for the week of 3/12*

*Dear Choir,*
**

*One of our most popular concerts ever occurred in 2005 when we performed a
multicultural concert of music from around the globe. Our May 11th concert
will revisit that format as we perform music from India, Finland, Brazil,
The Republic of Georgia, China, Argentina and Africa. We will sing music
that is Buddhist as well as a selection in Yiddish; a set from the
Appalachian and Bluegrass traditions that include Shenandoah, Cluck Ol’ Hen
and a setting of Light of a Clear Blue Morning by Dolly Parton as arranged
by Craig Hella Johnson. Also included is a set of African American
spirituals which will include the setting of Didn’t My Lord Deliver Daniel
which we performed at the Eid festival last October. Please note, that if
you sang in that concert, make sure to bring that music with you on Monday
as we have only ordered copies for the new singers. For a local touch, our
concert will also include a first ever performance of a new work by local
composer Jacob Groff!*

*Monday, March 19th rehearsal*

   - please try to arrive before 7:30 as we will be handing out the music
   packets
   - all pre-ordered packets will be available - please make sure to bring
   your receipt
   - if you did not pre-order your packet, the packets will cost $35.00 -
   payable by check, cash or credit card
   - *for those of you who sang the Eid Festival Concert*: please be sure
   to bring your copy of "Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel" - we have only
   ordered enough copies for non-Eid Festival singers.

*End of Season Luncheon*

There will be sign-up sheets at the Monday night break for the May 20th End
of Season Luncheon. We need to have a final count to present to the
Matthews House in order to reserve the May 20th date. Hopefully we will
have enough reservations to make this event happen! (No money requested at
this time; Chorale members have already signed up)
