*Here's where we stand on the project to raise funds for WCPE:
*
As of Monday, April 10, we have $1765 contributed by a total of 28 donors,
and things are looking good for  meeting our $2000 goal!

I'll be at rehearsal to accept donations.  And for *you who are not singing
in our Spring production*, you can send your contribution by snail mail.
That goes for lapsed members who haven't been singing for a while but are
still on the roster (and this email list.)

The check should be payable to WCPE with "CSC Project" in the memo area.

I will be closing out this year's effort after the rehearsal on Monday,
April 17, and sending the proceeds on to the station.

****SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
 *Question:*  Can I send my donation directly to WCPE and have it count?
*Answer:* Unfortunately, no.  They are not set up to track projects like
this.  We batch the checks/donations and send the batch to WCPE in one
package.  Then CSC gets the credit for the entire batch.

*Question:* Will you take cash?
*Answer:* Certainly!  But not by mail, please!

*Question:*  What about my tax receipt?
*Answer:* WCPE will acknowledge your gift with a letter that will pass IRS
scrutiny.

*Question:*  What about the coffee mug or baseball cap that depends on the
size of my donation?
*Answer:*  That's what you give up to support the CSC in this project.  The
CSC gets the big prize!

*Question:* What is it that Concert Singers gets from this, again?
*Answer*:  CSC gets a WEEKLY plug on the station as being a supporter, as
well as a link to the CSC web site in the WCPE we site (
http://www.wcpe.org/  ).  That's 52 announcements over the course of the
year.  The past two years we raised over $2000 and got two announcements a
week, for a total of 104!  Their paid announcements cost $60 per mention,
or cheaper by the dozen at $50 each.

*Question:* So what's in it for me?
*Answer:* You get to help two great community organizations.  The CSC
serves the Triangle area, and WCPE broadcasts to the eastern part of NC and
parts of Virginia, and it has internet listeners throughout the world,
including our forces in Afghanistan and the rest of the world

*Question:*  What is the deadline again?
*Answer:* April 17, after the rehearsal.

*Question:*  How about my company's matching gift program?
*Answer:* WCPE is a 501C(3) activity and is eligible under must company
programs; check with your HR office.  And don't forget that Concert Singers
of Cary is also a 501C(3) activity and is eligible for matching grants.
