Dear Symphonic Choir,

 

Thanks for a productive rehearsal last night under very difficult
circumstances. Despite not being able to see or hear (no problem for a
choir, right?) I feel that we accomplished what we needed to and that you
will sing well when you CAN see and hear J. Things will be much more
effective when we have our brief run through at Koka Booth. I'm writing to
review that schedule with you.

 

We need to have EVERYONE who is singing in this concert gathered behind the
stage facing the lake at 5:30 so that we can usher you up to the loft and
work on the seating. It will be the usual tight squeeze and we may need to
modify some things as we put people in place. There is nothing more
frustrating or disruptive than to believe that you have a section seated and
then need to make modifications for late comers. Since we have such a brief
time to rehearse I've decided that if you are not there when we seat your
section that you simply won't have a seat..sounds harsh but lateness is not
something that we want the whole group to pay for through lost rehearsal
time.

 

We will finish rehearsing at 6:30 and reassemble at 7:15 facing the lake.
The concert starts at 7:30 and should last about 2 hours counting
intermission. The weather forecast looks pretty clear and temperatures
should be in the mid to upper 80's, much more friendly than the bake fest we
had with the Symphony last June. Bring a bottle or two of water with you.
Some people had the idea of having the second bottle be frozen so that it
was still cold when you needed it.

 

On the organizational side, we still need some helpers to transport the
black boxes from the storage unit on NW Maynard Rd to the stage area on
Sunday. Two people with a vehicle the size of a Camry or larger can do the
job. The boxes need to place in the very top/back of the loft anytime from
1:00 - 4:30 on Sunday afternoon. Please let me know if you can help.
