Dear Singers,

Over the last month I have received emails from a number of you who sent me
the YouTube link to the "impromptu" performance of Hallelujah Chorus at
Macy's department store in Philadelphia in late October. It was organized by
The Opera Company of Philadelphia and included a number of area choruses and
the massive Wanamaker organ. The article below in today's Philadelphia
Inquirer is an interesting account of how it was organized and what the
Opera Company is hoping to achieve. Most notable is the funding provided by
the Knight Foundation, which serves six cities in the US including
Philadelphia and Charlotte. I found it most interesting and thought that you
might as well.

Thanks!
